Halloween, celebrated on October 31st, is a lively Western holiday with roots in ancient traditions.
Its origins trace back over 2,000 years to the Celtic festival of Samhain, marking the end of the harvest season and the start of winter. Celts believed that on this night, the boundary between the living and the dead blurred, allowing spirits to roam the earth. They lit bonfires and wore costumes to ward off ghosts, while also honoring ancestors with offerings.
